I just found out that the Ground fish Oversight Committee is going to give thier report and suggested recreational regulations to the New England Fishery Management Council at 1:00PM on November 15,2005. The meeting is open to the public and will be held at the Four Point by Sherraton Hyannis. 35 Scudder Ave. Hyannis. (508-775-7775) They are trying to come up with a way to reduce recreational fishing for cod in the Gulf of Maine by 38%. They might not touch the 10 fish limit. But they might eliminate access to the Western GOM closed areas. Which most of us fish.
