Anybody heading out this weekend? Im headin out on friday for a day-trip on my friends Viking. We're probably heading to the Middle Grounds, or somewhere near the Tales. Will post a report when I get back.
The reality is it probably won't be pretty, wind is still blowing here. Even if it drops out like they say, it has still been blowing for two weeks. It will definetly be fishable. it's all about how bad do you want it.
Well, its a 48 Viking, and I dont care about the weather as long as its not 6-8's and blowing 35. Anything nicer than that, I have no problem fishing in. All the other guys going, like fishing in the nicest weather possible, so its not my call. I really want to fish.
When they planned the trip yesterday, I was told the forcast was Seas 1-3, winds @10 knts. Its obviously changed a lil bit. Im waiting for the phone call, should be soon.
I think tommorow is perfect! I hope your guys dont bail. Id love a report if you wouldnt mind. I fish out of Montauk, but work in NYC. I last had 5 yft at the dip about 2 weeks ago-but been blown out since.
I have a friend on a 90 foot Dragger, he is supposed to be on or around the East wall of the Hudson. I left a message on his Sat phone. If he calls me back I'll give you the real time report.
My friend moved to the south. He said it's blowing about 18 and it is five foot. Heard boats on the side band yesterday one had two yellowfins trolling and the other one was still steaming. All this talk about Tuna fish is making my mind up for me.
Cant catch them on the dock... give it a shot. You can always turn around and catch 40lb bass. Friday is good... its always 10-15. Im jealous. Ill be waving a long rod at a school of 8lb falsies. Catch em up!
Sorry Capt. I just spoke to my dad, who is on my new boat fishing under the light (Montauk) and he told me its flat calm. This was the day, and Im staring at 6 computer screens....
