Default south jersey shark tournement

Hey guys, fairly new to THT just wondering what kind of fishermen are out there and if any one will be fishing in this tournement on 5/9 - 5/12. Let me know , it would be interesting to put a face to other members...

Sorry about the dates, but you all knew what I meant. Will be fishing on 38' Egg Harbor, don't have slip yet but the name of the boat is "Another F-fin Boat". Look me up, ask for Jim. Look forward to meeting different people.

Day 1 we fished 58 miles south off Ocean City, MD (Not a fun ride out ) San Gil wreck/ East side of the 20f Fingers cool side of temp break 63*. Moved to the West side of the 20f Fingers in the afternoon 66.5*. Both spots had a great drift but no life.
Day 2 fished the Triple Wreck area in the morning 66.5* afternoon fished the 20 line inside the Lori Dawn wreck 64.5*. Both spots had a great drift but just spotty bluefish action. These were our slowest 2 slowest Shark fishing days in 3 years.
My hats off to my guys that did a super job keeping both chum bags flowing, working the lines, keeping fresh baits in the water (One guy went out Wed night and caught 30 bluefish), and standing ready all day. They were thoroughly disapointed.
Overall it was a good learning experience... first time taking the boat to an "away" port and fishing unfamilar grounds. Alot of prep work the boat, the gear, the area+++

Two fishing days, 217 boats entered, 7 fish over 200#'s on the scales.

Day 1 : Planned to run 55 miles to some nice water we saw on the thermals, only to see a NICE thresher jump twice right in front of us 20 miles out, had decent water decided to fish there, especially since that surfer was bit inshore, thought maybe the fish were hugging the coast, but was not the case, he was the only life we saw that day.
Day 2 : Ran 55 miles out in beautiful water, had 2 short run offs, a few blues, and around 3:30 had a pod of dolphins (50 - 100 ) hang around the boat for about 45 minutes. That was our excitement for the tournament... Still a great time had by all.. best part was that the boat that won the heaviest mako didn't enter the Calcutta, so we get our money back.. COOL.. Oh well, maybe next year, and in 2 weeks Leonardo shark tournament.. JBEHR
