Default Barnagat Bay info

Hello, I'm a new boater who will be keeping my boat in Bayville, NJ. Although I'm an avid angler, I know nothing about this area. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where I might be able to buy a good chart of Barnagat Bay. Or even a good source of information & updates, like a reliable tackle/bait shop. Of course any personal experience is certainly more than welcome. My fish of choice are bass and weaks, but I'm not adverse to trying anything. Thanks in advance

For local info, try the Barnegat Fishin' Hole web site, bhweb.com, if you have not already done so.

Go to almost any tackle store and get a Barnegat Bay chart. Look for the BB and BI bouys; they are good for weaks. Get over to sod banks going to the BI inlet for stripers and weaks. It's a big bay with lots of great little spots. Good luck

Yup,

Like Seaside Johnny said, try the Barnegat Fishin Hole.

They are upgrading the site so it may be down for a day or two. It gets pretty sloooow over the winter
but is just starting to ramp up again.

As for B&T the w closest to you are Eastern (by the dinosaur) and Grizz's in forked river. There was also a B&T just off of Bayview Ave by the public launch. It's been a few years so I'm not sure if he is still there.

And as CB stated BB and BI bouys and the sod banks are great places to start. Right now Oyster Creek has some slot bass in it.

Good Luck

Thanks alot for the replies. I'll be sure to check out the "Barnegat Fishin Hole" web site. I should start hitting the Bay by early May. It looks like I'll have some fun exploring. Hopefully I'll meet some of you on the water
