Judging by word of the RI show LOTS of free tickets are going to have to be giving out for people to go.

Default new england boat show discount

As an exhibitor at The New England Boat Show, I can purchase tickets at half price, $7.50 instead of $15.00. I try to sell as many as I can before the show. I hate to see my customers pay full price!

I got one ticket for free from Evinrude. They mailed me a card and printed it online.

Do you really get a good deal at the boat show?? Or do dealers just mark the boat up before hand so it looks like your getting a deal??

Don't go to buy, go to look, go to ogle, go to dream, go to pass a yucky day.

Buy if you want though. I just go cause I like paying for parking, $10 hot dogs, and seeing models 3 years past their expiration date.

Last year I went looking to buy a boat and get in on the "boat show deals" that you hear about. If I wanted a center console 21' or under there were some pretty good deals. If I wanted a 25' walk around there were some incredible deals, and for the few over 26' center consoles there were deals to be had. In general I did not think there were many center consoles, and when I sat down to talk about a couple of 22' and 23' center consoles with a few dealers, I wasn't particularly impressed. You could get a couple of thousand off list and maybe a small cash rebate or extended warranty on the motor, but nothing that made me think "boy I should jump on this"! I guess looking for one of the more popular types of boats (23-25' CC) was what was working against me. It was tough sledding even finding a clean, late model used version of this boat. So if you're flexible on what you are looking for and want one end of the size spectrum or the other, you can get a deal. It is nice to be able to walk around and see a number of different models in one place, but I was disappointed that there weren't more CCs.

Boat shows usually have plenty of accessory products (tackle, marinas, magazines) at good deals. I go to look at boats ill never buy. Then too soothe myself from knowing I will never buy a $450,000 whaler I buy a used reel for $50 and renew my on the water
