Default shark/tuna off Falmouth?

Setting up next year out of Falmouth, always had fun with the Bass and Bluefish around the area but are shark accessable or tuna "yellowfin" in the area? I know the dump is not to far out and productive but that might be a bit far for my 20' v20. Not looking for a great white by the way!

grab a captain seagulls chart of the area. For sharks, try "the owl" (about 5 miles South of the hooter buoy. It's a safe run for most 20 ft. boats and there's always plenty of blue sharks and occasional Mako. Gordon's gully, The Star, Inside fingers, 30 fathom hole are all good spots (a little farther, pick your days). For tuna, you really have to get into the local pulse about where the temp breaks are. Again, the captains seagull chart is a great start for finding spots. Last season we caught football bluefin at the "bonito bar" which is a 9 iron from land.(but that doesn't happen every year).

Default RE: shark/tuna off Falmouth?

My first sharking was done at "The Fingers", just north of "The Dump".* We caught a bunch of 10 foot blues....a lot of fun for a newbie.* Captain Seagull has it well marked...Eastman's and most other tackle shops carry the right chart....OFGPS18 will do....

Others with more experience can correct me, but you have a higher probability of Blue Fin than Yellow Fin.* Yellow Fin like warmer water than Blue Fin...too catch yellow fin regularly, you have to head south of "The Lanes" or catch an unusually warm eddie from the gulf stream heading towards MV....Blue Fin range much closer to MV...some summer's, right off the beach.* I would not plan on heading to The Lanes in a 20 footer.* The northern edge of the dump is the farthest I would dare to take my 23...not that others would not do it...hell one guy sailed a specialized wind surfer across the Atlantic...just not me...
