I'm moving my vessel to the South Shore and selling my current mooring in Salem Harbor for $1000.
The mooring consists of a 1500lb block, 1/2" bottom chain, 3/8" top chain, and mooring float. The mooring is good for a vessel up to 25'. (My vessel is 9000 lbs and the mooring kept her secure). I purchased the mooring brand new in 2004 and have personally inspected and serviced as necessary every year (I'm a diver and commercial captain). I replaced the top chain at the start of last season so you are all set to go for this season. However, the Harbor Master requires inspection every season so you will need to inspect or hire someone to inspect the system.
The location is ideal as it is close to the ramp/docks at Winter Island. Winter Island Park offers a small store for basic supplies and a dinghy storage program. For an annual fee you can store your dinghy in one of their racks and get a seasonal parking sticker. The location is also about 2 minutes from the end of the headway speed zone so you have a very short distance to travel before you can come up on the throttles. I have attached a Google Earth picture (mooring spot in blue).
