They have already reclassified the rec pogie netting gillnetters so you need a permit (tax).Another permit for stripers (tax). New saltwater license is what?? Another tax!! HMS permit (tax) If you sell them, you need another permit (tax), then you need to report on the new online reporting section. Yes to track landings, but dont for a second think that if you have sales and dont show $$ on your taxes it wont show up!! I know a large seafood dealer that is currently under investigation for selling more than he buys !! This is how the feds discovered the improprieties!! I think they already have their hands in our pockets pretty good !! Fuel tax you pay at the marina with the road taxes included. Boat reg., trailer reg., excise tax. No end to where these guys will go !!!

Have bought from him before out of Brewers. He sure does run a good little operation.

Tough to believe but the busiest day of the week last year for fishing out at the bank was Thursday. I will be delivering to plymouth in the afternoons and to the Bank in the morning - all pending availability and demand.

Bluefish were working just as well if not better towards the end of the season last year as well. A lot easier to catch than pogies.

Dougie - We need to use your old man's boat for a carrier!

Probably no pogie wars cuz it is such a pain in the butt to do. I am not even sure Jared is going to do it again. Hopefully Cullen can get some fish up here. It will be a nightmare for us if nobody else sucks it up and handles green harbor. The amount of bait on the way does not look great so I am not jumping up and down over the prospects of pogie fishing this year. I will know by mid june whether I am bass fishing or cast netting in July and August.

She would make one hell of a good bait boat! We could fill about 7 wells...however who knows what will be around this year, I did not see the bait around my mooring like years past last season...pogies are quite cyclical so I guess only time will tell....plus i will be hopefully harpooning!

The main problems with this product are their limited storage life and their difficulty to catch on demand. A fully reliable source does not exist. Many afternoons and mornings we stare at a blank machine ready to toss a net for hours at a time. Its a tough deal when you have a phone ringing every 30 seconds on average. Can't tell you how many times I put the net down out of exhaustion or put it down to answer the radio and at the same instant had the fish go under the boat. We now shut down all communication when we are fishing because it is the best way to supply as many people as possible - Very tough on the people hoping we catch. Hopefully our strategies for 2010 will smooth things out but it really depends on what shows up for bait.
