How is the engine, is it even registered yet?

There were plenty of occasions when the pogie suppliers could NOT keep up with demand. Obviously weekends where the demand outweighed supply. I think there will be plenty of buyers. You can also sell down the canal to teh striper guys, especially duirng the tournaments & commercial season. Fresh deads, packaged 3-5 per bag, with slime coat intact are worth a whole lot more than a tote full of fresh deads!! The expense to catch, transport, and keep the amount of bait your promising for weekends, I hope you have 1 of the trout transport trucks form the state!! Whats the guarantee?? Will it be in writing? Will you NOT answer your phone when you dont have the pogies? Or will you be honest with guys and tell them, "sorry not today"?? Good luck its a great idea, especially for a highschool or college kid to make so dough!

I will not be able to do huge numbers. I expect to be able to sell around 2-3 hundred live pogies on both saturday and sunday. I am not going to be able to promise bait to every single person however, when there is a bait shortage in Duxbury harbor, and the harbors to the north, I will still have those 2-3 hundred a day to sell each morning.

My suggestion would be to load up and ride out to the SW corner. Let your customers pick them up there. Show up at sunrise and leave 30 minutes later with grand.
How about weekdays on one day's notice? There are too many days when the weather window looks to good to not go.

Cullen - Good Luck this season. Try advertising around Situate and Duxbury. When those tuna boats are heading out . . . $5/ live pogie is nothing. What's going on with the Hockey?

Whoever is interested you will be guaranteed bait to fish with both saturday and sunday. $5 each. Please let me know if you are interested.

Yes,

Sandwich sounds great. Would you have any friends in Sandwich that would be interested? Also whoever seems interested in this idea. Please call me at (508) 789 6379 or emails me at clundholm1@gmail.com.

Thanks,

Cullen

madkate, dont worry, you'll be all set with the pogies & you wont be paying for them! I have been truckin mine to Sandwich to meet my buddy who runs the boat from Wareham. Its a pretty good connecting place, easy in and out for the boats coming from the west end of the canal.

Another question...are we sure the Pogies will be back next Summer? They showed up for the first time in what, 20 years, two Summers ago thick and then last Summer they were sporadic. I wouldn't be signing any contracts without an exculpation clause.

Thats the exact reason why I am starting this business. I will be catching my pogies on the south side where they have been every year for the past twenty years. They may not show up in Duxbury next year, however there will be bait on the south side for me to catch, and deliver to Green Harbor, and Plymouth.
