Has any one caught any halibut on jeffreys? Last May i caught a 37" halibut on the southern part ,in about 200ft . First one i have ever seen.

And to think at one time they where so common they where considered trash fish.

Halibut are a pretty rare catch in the GOM these days but you usually get wind of one or two big ones boated every year.


I would love to get one as they are an excellent eating fish and a fierce predator that would be quite the challenge on my little accurate Cod setup

I got one on Stellwagon 2-3 years ago. Sumbitch was
about 42" long, and had a very nasty looking set of teeth.
