My brother has a Webco, it's a 28' Webco. Really nice boat built like a tank. They are cheap because they are generally not finished much. A hull, a rub rail and a single oil burner with a battery and off you go.

Is it same company, same boat, same hull or totally different?

"def check those links i posted though, athearnmarine.com is commercial but you can find really nice ones, and midcoastyacht.com has TONS of downeasters both commercial and pleasure".

Athearnmarine.com is awful!!!!!! I would suggest that you don't use them unless you going to spend 100-200G on a boat. Otherwise they won't call you back, never return emails and just seem bothered by your inquiry. Boats are nice on the website though

really, ive gone and looked at two boats listed with them and didnt get that impression and know 3 guys on the vineyard that made a low ball offer which was accepted. One happened to be a 55' bruno for $35k. though, im not sure they went through athearn, only used it to browse boats.

I was out on the Great South Bay, and towed in by the local TowBoatUS. I believe it was a Repco. Cool looking boat!

Would you happen to have a picture of that boat?

Ive worked on 30' repcos lobstering and they are a good boat. classic older lobsterboat style. They cant carry much gear as they get fairly skinny aft. they do have alot of pitch and roll though. plenty seaworthy but you will get shaken. Ive been on one and had the wheel almost out of the water when beam to in a 5ft steep chop. they come back over fine though with the full keel. The one ive known has a 175 isuzu and does about 7-10 knots cruising (definatly not pushing it) while burning 5-7 gallons of diesel every 8 hours. If you can find one with a newer trunk cabin and house Id reccomend the boat. Thats often their weakest point, an old glass over wood house thats rotten. Good buy for the money. The most boat you can get for 10,000. I dont know about a tower or flybridge though with their inherent roll

If you are into old wood Joneporters/Beals Island boats this fiberglass version is about as pretty as she comes. I am not sure of any fiberglass builders that have a mold with this length to width ratio. Perhaps the Young Brothers 30 comes close. I really dig the low freeboard and high sheer on these boats too. If the boat needs new power, it is my belief that more is not better. This is a great 16-18knot boat and should not be confused with the newer wider siblings that have come on the scene. Lets keep this one going. This boat started it all.
