I guess with our DMF it's just easier to look busy and do nothing, than it is to actually do things that will keep more fishermen fishing and employed?
Oh right they go to lots of meetings, I forgot.

I remember a meeting at the MA Maritime a long time ago. There was some guy there from Norway or Iceland who spoke to us about ITQ/IFQ's, he didn't have much nice to say about them. I've spoken to a lot of folks from Alaska who have similar things to say. ITQ's or catch shares are only good for those who get the fish, they are the end of the line for you though if you don't.

So, have a listen to these 2 pieces from the last 2 MA marine fisheries commission meetings. Catch shares seem to be coming. Time to pay attention.
