After spending the past 4 hours looking for my two friends from Wellfleet I ask that you take a minute and Pray to your God for the safe return of two lost fishermen out of Wellfleet
More to come but please Lord be with Chris and Matt .

I just read that...I pray they find them alive....
I am not sure what the news is saying but I heard the first "vessel taking on water" broadcast at 3:30.
I was Tuna Fishing and pulled my gear and headed for the last known location.
By 5:30 the conditions went from Bad to REAL Bad and I headed back to Wellfleet as I was close to being in over my head............ It sucked in the Bay big time
The Kimberly Ann out of Wellfleet responded to the Broadcast and offered to assist.
Little did the Captain realize that his son was one of the two crew members missing.
The boat is gone and presumed sunk. The Kimberly Ann along with the Coast Guard are there searching as I type this. I can't even imagine the terror that is going thru Capt. Mics head right now
These are two local Family guys that we all love.
The Captain and his son where just at my daughters Birthday party.
Chris Merl who owns the Aidians Pride and Matt Gregory who is the son of Mick Gregory who Captains the Kimberly Ann out of Wellfeet are two lucky souls tonight.
They where both fishing anothers boat when disastor struck. Speculation is there drag hung on a rock and made the boat list enough to take a few large waves over the side
I do not have the details of the sinking as they are on the way to the hospital.
The internet is an incredible thing. I felt like I've just been put through an emotional wringer in the twenty seconds it just took to read these posts- from despair to elation.
Whew- how fortunate!
I am glad they made it. The lesson to be learned by all is that without survival suits, I don't think they would have made it - I'm guessing they would agree it was the best $250 ever spent. If you plan to boat outside the bay, much less head offshore when the water is less than 70 degrees, spend the money for the suits, as in many ways they are better than a raft (if you could only choose one).
