Default soft plastics for bluefin

I have recently bought a new boat. My old boat had outriggers, the new boat does not have them yet (winter project and out of money). I have squid bars, daisy chains with birds etc that I trolled off my old boat using the outriggers. Usually with mauraders or something off the flatlines. Without the outriggers I feel really challenged this fall (probably keep the boat in the water till the first/second week of November).

Are the (fairly) new popular artificials i.e. RonZ, large rigged sluggos etc. worth my efforts to troll for bluefin tuna on Stellwagon this fall? Has anyone experienced any success with them this time of year? I can probably fish 4 lines, two way back two close but without the outriggers I think I'll leave the squid bars at home.

I'm wonder if it is worth the gas and time to try these soft plastics in a 4 way spread. And the pogies seem to be thinning out in my area.

Thanks

Go to Mafishingreport.com and watch the latest video of fishing conditions in the area. There is one captain that answers your question. Apparently the BFT are hitting bars, slugo's etc

I fished for 4 years without outriggers down here in NC.

I wonder if the fish ever knew I didn't have any on the boat?

Can you keep the baits apart w/o the riggers?

If so, go fishing.

I fish 9 rods without outriggers every trip (8'6" beam) learn to drive straight and make slow wide turns and you can also.
Sluggos need to be really slow so it's tuff to fish them with bars. Today they were blowing up half beaks. We hooked up with a pink bar then when spinning rod chasing. If you choose to fish the sluggo type 4 rods and 2 divers (x-rap 30's) The pink/white Islander/ballyhoo works well also. I also like the moldcraft hooker ballyhoo combo as it smokes better.
