Default Spinning rods for tuna?

I was looking for spinning rods to use with Penn 950 SSM to target yellow fin and small blue fin. I have read some discussions about OTI rods. Do any of you know anything about them? Do you recommend other rods for this application?

Also, If I buy another spinning reel what do you think of the Shimano Saragosa 18000?

OTI rods are a good choice. I know a few guys that make a living on them and have takin alot of big tuna including a few over 200 lb on the OTI rods and the Saragosa 18000. Also look at St Croix as a rod to pair up with that 950 SSM.

An OTI popping rod will do the trick for sure as well as a Saragosa 18000 (I have one in the arsenal). A Stella 20000SW is my favorite reel but it is 3X the cost of a Saragosa. Tight lines

my buddy just brought an oti 7'6 popping rod on my boat. real sweet looking and plenty of backbone. It cast about average not any farther than my 7 ft seeker tho. I have the OTI g3 jigging rod and love it. My other buddy has a St. Croix but after three fish last year he upgraded to a black devil which is unbelievable. He uses the St. Croix as a back up rod now

Do the jigging rods work for casting or live lining, or are they pretty much limited to jigging? I'm guessing they will work fine for live linning or chunking, but don't cast very well.

If you know how to load a rod the jigging rods will cast a 9"-12" Slug-go quite far. I use that as an example since it's light in weight compared to heavier plugs.
