Went out this AM. Stayed inside inlet. (Fun to watch all the big boys laugh at us in the inlet, only to go out 500 feet and turn around and fish with us!)
One short fluke and a couple cocktail blues.
3MPH drift at times. Hopeful for something later... but doesn't look good.
Not for me. Naturally, I couldn't get any killies. The guy tells me, "nobody uses them after fluke season". LOL - That's funny - I use them like mad for seabass.
Go to tonys bait and tackle they have killies all the way up until november. The 24th I was 2 miles out catchin nice false albacore then the weather got snotty this next week should be nice and flat
It was a beautiful day out of barnegat today bait everywhere breaking water. I trolled past about 30 pods in 5 miles and could not get a bite. I trolled all depths marks all over and couldn't get a bite. Radio chatter was the same story. I hope this is a good sign of stripers to come.

Boobs or spark plugs if it has them it will be fun and give you problems.
Finally left about 45 minutes later than I wanted to. Couldn't wait for fog to lift... took it easy. By the time I got to the Forked River things start to lift a little. Got out to the Garden State North Reef FINALLY! And it was worth the trip! A bunch of nice Black Bass and a very nice triggerfish. I have to say, now that I"ve done both the Barnegat Light Reef and the Garden State North Reef... the GSNR is worth the extra trip.
Fished with about 6 other boats and one commercial pot guy "Ruthless" (? I think was the spelling).
The NOAA weather people confused the heck out of me this weekend. (Maybe somebody here can educate me) -- They first said there was a small craft advisory until Saturday 1:PM. Then I woke up today (Sunday) and there was one for today... all day. Huh? The seas were maybe 2f at about 15 sec. intervals (or more). Yeah - the inlet was snotty upon reentry -- but that isn't anything new. Did I read something wrong? I don't see AT ALL how an advisory was warranted.
Oh well... a fun day. Hope to see some of you folks out there.
