Default Barnegat Inlet area tomorrow?

If you're out there fishing, look for me and say hi! My boat is yellow and I will probably be fishing solo.

I know your boat. I was out around the 42 a few of weeks ago with my brother looking for weakfish and found nothing. We drifted real close to each other a couple of times....I mean REALLY close. You moved off..thanks. I remember commenting to my brother about how pretty your boat looked. I was on an Ice Blue 24 Sea Hunt.
I haven't been able to get out lately. Worked the AC In Water Boat Show last weekend and am doing the Jersey Shore Boat Sale and Expo at First Energy Park in Lakewood this weekend.
The weather looks great for tomorrow. Let us know how you make out.

Pete, I looked for you on the last day of fluke... Friday 9/4. A million boats out there. My daughter and I went out and caught a few shorts around OC/DC. We then moved into a very rough inlet with big breakers. Dropped the hook and in 20 seconds pulled up a 26" flattie. By far, my biggest for the season. The inlet was way rough so we headed home . A great way to end a very crappy fluke season.

Jack, I keep looking for you! I even hailed a couple of times. I was out most of the day and afternoon on Friday. 3-4 mile line solo. It was me and another guy in a Whaler "One More Time" or something like that. He was solo too. Didn't get a single fish. Horrible. I cam in closer just off the first building on the beach -- the finder showed a TON of fish, which a commercial guy quickly setup a pattern and took. I fished that for about an hour. Nothing.

I moved all around the pond and was skunked outside. I snotted my way in the inlet fished inside in my usual coast guard station drift in 30' - skunked again. I couldn't break an egg with a hammer.

Fluke season was pretty good for me. My biggest was 24" Caught at the 3 mile line just slightly North of the inlet.

I'm not sure if I'm going out Sunday... I drifted with Stox and had a feeling it was the guy who PMed me about my bait combo. But I wasn't sure so I kept mum. LOL. Pretty cool forum where you can tandem up with people.

I was outside today briefly and saw a few guys around. Nothing good. I hear the Holes are doing well -- but that's not happening. :D

Pete

Jack-

I remember you at the 42 and I also saw you one day by Myer's hole :-) Pete, I seem to remember your boat as well. Heading down now should be fishing the inlet before noon.

Pete-

Just got back about 35mins ago. I let that last porgy you saw go, and about 5 mins later I got a nice sea bass on a killie- thanks! Got one more keeper bass later on, so I have three fish to clean as soon as I finish this beer. Not trying to rub it in, but the bite turned on again about 40 mins after you left :-) Even had a few double-headers. Not sure when I'll make it out again, but let's try to meet up again.

I'm not complaining! Glad the killies worked. Did you stay in that general area?

Yeah. I kept doing that drift over and over. Was surprised that I didn't catch (or see) a single fluke, but glad there are so many seabass.

Right where I first met up with you, more South along that same drift (just outside of the reef) is the good for fluke.

You can also try slightly more North and then drift over that area... but you'll see some snags.
