Default Mako taken 09/06

Hey fellas caught this mako about 10 miles south of block on labor day. By no means a huge mako but a perfect size for steaks and a good battle. Taken in nice clean cool blue water south of block. After seeing it or another mako free jumping about 200 yards away it take the bait about 30 minutes later. It sky rocketed out of the water came at the boat and dropped the bait. Then after re baiting the hook it came back for it jumped about 50 feet from the boat and we got a good hook set and it was all over from there. Brought it boatside in 15 minutes, flying gaffed and tailroped, dragged and brought in for some good eats. Wish I had pics of the jump but do have some of the weigh. Got a feeling this will be a good fall mako season with some big guys to be taken. Also managed a nice small size keepr BFT in the morning and a small mahi. So overall a good day. Looks like this weekend is a wash out but ill keep my fingers crossed for sunday.

Hit em hard and tight lines

Kevin
