Default Ice Eaters.....which is best?

Just spent 32 grand on a new bulkhead here in NJ and it is time to protect it as best as I could......Which brand of ice eater do you guys recommend for a 67 foot dock and bulkhead?

You will probably need two of them.
I have a pair of 3/4 hp Kasco's (3400) for the past 9 years that do my 60' Bulkhead and 30'x10' plus 25'x6' L shaped dock and 6 outboard pilings. When it is real cold, I get some ice around the edges, but nothing thick - the key is how deep is the water - I am only 5.5' at low tide, which hurts the performance a lot by reducing the size of the cone area it does. People I know with 15' of water at low tide and 1 unit will do a 40'x60' area.

I use two P-750 ice eaters from Powerhouse. They work very well. I use them to protect 90 feet of bulkhead. The water stays open the entire length plus, and out into the lagoon some 40 feet. The closer to the surface you mount them the more turbulance created which gives a better distance.

I had one ice eater short out last season and the company repaired it no questions asked.

I don't think your looking to go cheap on this but the guy next door to me uses a sump pump at half the cost. It comes with a 5 yr. guarantee so if it breaks he just returns it.
Does a good enough job from where I sit.

i have used both the powerhouse and the kasco. I currently have the Powerhouse on my dock, and take care of my neighbor's, who head south, and they have the kasco. I think the kasko is simpler to setup because of the "basket" vs the bucket style of the powerhouse. Seems like my bucket style gets more effected by currents, and sometimes gets wrapped up.

that said, i have had great customer service with a burned out powerhouse unit (they inspected mine, and sent a new one within 3 or 4 days).

I currently use a 1/2 horse on mine, but had a 3/4 hp previously, which really keeps a big area clear. but as others have suggested, 2 might be in order for you.
