Default Fishing NJ in Oct and Nov?

I plan to do some fishing in October and November up until Thanksgiving, but I have never been very succesful with Stripers. Although I'm not giving up on Stripers, what other types of fishing would be good in these fall months either in the bay (Barnegat), the inlet, or within a mile or 2 of the beach?

Thanks

Large gator blues and stripers have been a "can't miss" the past few years. Just troll until you find them between Barnegat Inlet and the Sea-Side piers and then you can cast or jig them once the schools have been located....

Easiest.........Two wire line set-ups and a few tube or shad rigs. Go out to 50 feet of water and let 200 feet of wire out, troll about 4 knts and hang on......Next best would be mono set-ups and stretch 25 plugs....same speed and depth..........If you ask 10 people who fish this area you are likely to get 11 different answers, but the methods I mentioned will take thousands of fish off the central Jersey coast over the next 3 months!

Speaking of Blackfish...
Was at Barnegat Light Sunday, and on my walk out and on the way back this family was doing well.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe at the wrecks offshore? It just seemed strange that there were NO keeper sized fish out of the dozens we caught.
