no but i can drive my boat over to the commercial docks and throw a dockworker 20 bucks to hook me up. just go at the very end of the day or when you know there are no boats packing out. timing is crucial!
That is where I usually go - but hit or miss - 45 minute ride (round trip) is not bad to get "free" ice but to go all the way there and come up empty - not fun.
Hey, I play hockey 2-3 times a week for most of the year, too! But when it comes time to sell those fish, nobody seems to care where the ice comes from. I stopped believing that "fresh" fish were only packed in sterile ice a long time ago. By the time the fish gets cut up and cooked, the spit, etc. from hockey players (NEVER figure skaters!) is mostly insignificant.
CCNautical, if you want to pm me I can give you my phone number and possibly let you know if ice is available. I do it for a friend in Sandwich, I live fairly close by.
Buy a used commercial ice machine that's what I did, hooked up to my garden hose in the garage it will pay for itself in a few years and will make you life a lot easier.
Jdizzle, Do you mind sharing how much you paid for that machine, and where you found it? Also, how much does it produce a day? Not ready to buy one now, but would love to add one in the garage at some point. Thanks
I have an extra one. I think it's a Hozuki. I bought 2 of them, they came out of a Crispy Creme (not used much) air-cooled (better than water cooled) I'm using one but the other is up for grabs. I think it's 500lbs a day
