George from Carger Charters is a very nice guy. I've fished with him a few times and always caught fish and had a good time. I don't know much about Blackjack Carters but he does have a beautiful boat. I also know that a few years back Blackjack took a deposit from a couple for a charter and then on the day of the charter returned their deposit because he found a group of 6 that wanted to go out on the same day. I thought it was a pretty crappy thing to do. I think the Miss Boothbay just fishes for mac's. You can go fish from the rocks or the pier at the Boothbay Aquarium and get a bucket load of mac's there. I've never been out on the Redhook but I have seen him at Small Point Beach fishing mac's in the surf. Small Point is a beautiful spot and even if you only get a few fish you will love fishing there. You might also want to look into Shark 5.

Capt. Joe Rego out of Damariscotta is great. Knows the Damariscotta River like the back of his hand. I fished with him a couple years ago and at least then he guaranteed fish.
You can find him right at the docks at the bridge at Schooner Landing. His boat is called Punky's Comet. Nothing fancy but he gets the job done...
