Default Has anyone seen any sharks yet?

Water temps seem to be a little behind from last season, I was wondering if anyone has seen any sharks yet.

I heard there was a Great White caught in a fish trap off Scarborough beach, here in RI last week, pretty big one from what I was told.

I was over in Galilee that morning when they found that White. I was told by the guy at Galilee fuel that it was a 9' Shark. Dead in the trap and the guy dragged it out to sea.

I just fished the Star Island Shark Tournament...

I tried some spots in 20/25 fathoms near Block Channel and it was a little slow.

Saturday we ran down south of Ryan's Horn and there were plenty there to about 8'.
We didn't fish it but north of the horn's showed a little more life, tinker mack's, sunfish and some other small jumping fish, not sure if they were small footballs, to small to see, but I know some other boats talked about pollack up on the surface.

I am thinking of south of BI on Saturday if this weather ever lets up.

They are forecasting a good weekend, hopefully they are right.

I will be heading out saturday if the weather is good!

Thinking saturday out to Ryan's horn... if the buzz is going to be busy there, I may head off east to the Dump.

On your way to Ryans horn, keep taking a look just north of Jennie's Horn... That looked really good Saturday on the way back in... tinker macks, other things etc... Wondering if that is where the threshers came from in the tournament...

Default Shark fishing Gully to Acid Barge

Went out today with brother-in-law today nothing but DOG FISH!! Hundreds of them on the surface-the most I've ever seen!! No sharks caught or seen! Calm water lots of bait. Dog fish eating our chum as soon as it hits the water. Drove all over -couldn't shake them!! Maybe next time. fire33

Coming back from a fuel run a little while ago. A guy comes in the VHF saying he just hooked up a thresher while trolling a bunker spoon for stripers. They were still fighting the fish a half hour later when I pullrd into the dock and shut her down. A couple of weeks ago a buddy got one that weighed 305 pounds on a bunker. Two hours plus on 40 pound braid. These fish are right on the beach chasing bunker schools.

A few friends were at Jennise Horn yesterday and got about 8 blue sharks. Water was flat and little drift.
