Default Gas Prices Cape Cod

My boat is mid cape on the south side.

Currently gas is at 4.89 a gallon.

I went to the next closest Marina's and apparently they have hauled their stations. This seems insane to me.

Can I get some info on prices in the area to compare distance/money saved?

Thanks!

Thanks for the info-

I am planning my first trip to scout my spots and at almost 5 bills I might as well be fishing from a helicopter.

I think Hyannis is at just under 3 dollars too.

Anyone know why Diesel is less than gas this year? Last year Diesel was a buck higher than gas... what happened?

I remember when the gas craze started hitting- 3 or 4 years ago diesel was staying relatively cheap. then started to slowly climb to the numbers today.

I think the diesel is slower to change based on demand- so while the supplies for gas fluctuate diesel is slower to react.

If I had a diesel engine I would be getting it from a truck- home heating type oil- no road tax.

Interesting thread. I fished the Sakkonett River last week and fished by the power plant in FallRiver. There was a guy working on the docks and we asked why the plant wasnt running, he said natural gas was so cheap, it was too expensive to run a coal fired plant !! As we saw over the past couple years, fuel prices are a commodity and fluctuate by trading not demand as it should be !!

That is a good question as it is the same deal at my local Mobil station

Diesel is the same price as Regular gas.......$2.49

There was at least a .75 cent spread all last summer

You guys can lookup current fuel prices into this price tool on our website. Give it a try. You can update the prices yourself.

I appreciate such a site, but your prices in the Boston area seem to be very outdated. Within a 10mi radius of me, there were 20+ listings, 90% of which were last updated in 2008 and are showing 2x+ the current prices.

That site relies on "user driven content" (as they say in web-speak) so we simply act as the provider of a free service which boaters can use. We'd love to see more of the boating public updating the prices more regularly.

diesel is directly related to heating oil, last year with crude topping at $147/barrel, heating oil was much more expensive, hence the price of diesel at the pump.
its all a bunch of BS anyway as we all know. right now there is a glut of oil, tankers offshore loaded with it, supplies at 10 yr highs, yet the price is still at historically high levels! OPEC loves us!! they laugh at us too, because of their control over us with their oil! sad but true! its funny not many people talk about what really caused this recession, it was oil, plain and simple. the world doesnt operate with $147 a barrel oil, not without some drastic dire changes.
