Tuna is usually Bluefin in the fall - September at the earliest. Sharking starts about now.

I would start by watching the Sea Temps in the area... and reading a lot here and on noreast dot com as well... Its a good sharking spot, when the water hits about 60-62 things really begin to perk up...

Sharks usually show around middle/end of June. BFT, although not plentiful, will arrive in July/Aug along with dolphin and the stray yft...once the temps get higher. Just watch reports online and in places like the Fisherman magazine. But be prepared to look for the fish.

Turn thumbnails on... NJ has had a lot of cloud cover for the last few days so you may have to scroll down for a sat shot, or wait till the weather clears...

Hope that helps...

60-80lbs hollowcore and 80lbs monotop shot ~ 100 yards(topshot). that will give you your best chance. you may want to bring additional line to respool, on the fly, in-case you get spooled! kai ohana

I use www.offshoresatelliteservices.com although it is a pay site, Capt.Len has become a very good friend, as a backup (learning from the canyonrunner seminar) I also got Sirius whether to locate the temp breaks.

Schools of school Bfins are pushing through the mudhole now. Some of our best trips have been in June.
