Default schoolies - south cape

A friend caught 6 stripers from 16" to 22" from shore off Cotuit Saturday. Any other reports?

Hit some nice bass south of the canal today. A buddy took one earlier at 26 lbs. A real fatty. Rivers are producing but can be either hit or miss. Lots of shorts on rubber. One second they are there and then they're gone. South Cape has the whole squid thing going off shore and the chompers have been showing up delighting those plug freaks.

I got my Parker hooked up and in 8 hours I'll be off in Buzzards Bay on the prowl. Weather looks clear, warm of 77 degrees on the Cape.

I went out today and only got two small fish in Wareham. Small fish were busting early this am but were nervous and not touching a thing. I put 72 miles on my boat breaking her in and saw birds working around Bird Island as well as the sandbar at the Mass Maritime. Very few people heaving herring at the canal today. Any day now the canal should bust open.

Cell phone kept ringing today with buddies reporting lots of fish still south of the canal though. Big schools with some decent fish being caught. One at 32 and one at 27 lbs from shore on dead herring. Word got around quickly though. Many guys fishing the rivers and bays are hooking up consistently. This warm weather should kick it in high gear any day now.

I fished Pompanessett and South cape beach tonite and there was nothing...know two boats that got skunked around the Vineyard today as well...where are they catching these fish? I want to go after work on thursday...what I saw today leads me to believe there is a lot of talk and a lot less action....
