I don't think there are any ramps available to the public in York.
There are a couple of ramps in Kittery that might work for your small boat. One is at Traip Academy on Williams Ave. and another is at Kittery Point on Route 103 behind Frisbee's market.
Also, in Ogunquit off Route 1 on Ocean Street there is a ramp for small boats.
Thats what I thought. Do you know if there is room to park a trailer at the one in Ogunquit?
The 12 mile run from Wells makes me have to pick my days very carefully. Even doing that one time last year we had a hair raising (pun intended) ride home trying to out run a severe T Storm front. We almost made it to the harbor when it hit...2 mile run in torrential rain, lightening bolts all around us, but luckily no wind. Made it in safe but learned a valuable lesson.
There is a public Ramp in the york river close to the mouth.* It is just before the bend in the road that goes to long sands.* There is a building with shops on the right.* Take the road next to it.* Parking can be a pain.* I had to park on 1a once.
Your welcome.* It was around 11 years ago when I used it.* Low tide may be a problem.* I am hoping to get out of Portsmouth this weekend if I can get away on Mothers day!
Maineguides I was looking for a ramp in the York area in order to be closer to Boon Island where I do a lot of striper fishing in my tin boat. I used the ramp in Wells (which by the way was redone last year...beautiful with plenty of parking and FREE!) but it is a 12.5 nm run to the Island. With a small boat I have to pick my days very carefully and even then had a hair raising ride home one day trying to beat a severe t-storm front. Made it safely but learned a valuable lesson.
I know the ramp your are speaking about on the Saco..I can get there just dont ask me the street names. Real nice facility. Caught some of my best fish in the river just across from the ramp last year.
Are you ground fishing on Tantas yet. I heard the cod run has been slow up north. Last year our best trips were in late June and July. Unfourtunately the pair trawlers decimated the herring so by August the fish left with the lack of bait. I heard they are going to start dragging for mackeral this year...that should do wonders for the stripers/blues and tuna as well as ground fish.
Good luck this season

harpoon ..........your right the peaks are an inshore spot. If you want some numbers send me an e-mail. Its a aspot i fish alot when the forcast isnt looking good enough to head out further.
codfisher. ive been looking at boon island alot lately on the charts. Ive said for the last two years i was going to go down there one way or another but never seem to make it. This year im going down few trips to learn the bottom then i want to do a couple of night trips. the bottom looks awesome on the chart.
Tantis is also a place i fish alot and i havent been out there yet and dont know of anyone that has. I will be out there the first day that the weather is good. what are you fishing out of for a boat?
Lots for great places around the island and surrounding ledges. Can get a bit busy in August when the blues arrive and everyone tries to troll on top of the rock. I usually advoid that zoo and fish between there and the island. Took some real nice bass to 30lbs in the deep water (200+) and was the only boat around.
I have a 16.5 ft tin boat so thats why I have to be careful. Had a line on a nice 25ft but the deal didnt go through so the codfish on Tantas are safe for this year.
Good luck this year maybe I'll see you around Boon!

Got them trolling using large jawbreaker rebels etc on down riggers which make it nice...no weight to bog down the fight. We ran them between 20 and 50 ft down. Only problem is advoiding the 5 trillion pots in the shallow water areas
