I have been looking for a Boston Whaler early model Dantless/Ventura or Grady White Tournament and am wondering if there is another manufacturers out there that might offer more for the money. Looking for a 20 foot range that could be used in LI Sound.
Thanks Birdman. I will post my question on the boating section. Why the caution regarding Grady?? By Dual Console I am referring to an open bow/split window layout.
Never liked any of the grady's. They have a great name, built it up over the years as a premium fishing hull. However, the truth is, they are not all they are cracked up to be in my opinion. They are over priced, they use too much wood in their hulls and have had a multitude of rotting problems,
Me thinks you can do alot better for your money on alot of other brand name boats.
Take a look at this one. A friend has a 20 ft center console same manufacturer. Nice boats. I have a scout dual console and I love it. I have taken it 20-30 miles offshore with out issue. Of course you need to pick your day.....
Look at Sea Hunt. Good boat, good price, good reviews on The Boating Forum. Has a better ride than the BW and none of the expensive bells and whistles of the GW.
If looking new, take a look at the new Hydra-sports. Very nice.
If looking used, but only a few years old, then look at the Aquasport.
Like I said up top, I think my Laguna was a nicer layout then most today, but you would probably want to repower.

I have had 3 Grady Whites and never had an an issue with rot or anything aside from normal upkeep. Dealer and factory service is second to none . The first one I had fro 85 to 2004 and sold it for almost 50% of what I paid after 20 years later. Resale cant be beat. Their dual consoles are pretty popular and a bit pricey but you have to consider craftmanship and resale values.
Plenty of good used ones on the market
Good Luck
KeyWest 2020 DC is hard to beat for the $$$$. I've own one since 1999.
They can be had for $25,000 with a Yamaha F150....brand new.
Scout makes a nicer and pricier DC as does Hydrosports and Grady White, but they cost 3x-3x as much.
