Random Quote: The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad
Weather looks perfect tomorrow for a day of striper fishing. Anyone want to help point me in the right direction for some nice bass. I have been traveling for two weeks and have not been out. Thinking of heading towards Nantucket to find some cooler waters. Try Mcblairs out. Any other spots on the way? All advice welcome!!!
I was out on a charter last Tuesday. We caught 4 keepers just south on Monomoy on umbrella rigs. We also tried jigging on Handkerchief shoal but only caught a few blues. Worth a try.
Nantucket has fish, smallish but they are there. Handkerchief has some better fish, but also acres of bluefish so you might not be able to get to them. Last time I was out, over the weekend, Monomoy to the east was chilly water, fishing was almost dead. Dunno about McBlair.

Hooper, I've heard Monomoy is dead, but has its moments. I'm going to have the wife and daughter on board too, so I'm thinking heading towards nantucket to fish then late lunch over there (keep everyone happy). Any shoals between Bass River and Nantucket that have produced in the past?
Either way I'm heaidng out tomorrow...keep any reports coming guys, I'll check in the am before I leave. I'll report back what I find out there
I have done OK this week at Bearse with 11 market fish and plenty of keepers and enough 8# to 10# bluefish but it is tough fishing. Pulling 100yds of wire thru the grass for hours is something most Gals don't like to do.
If a good rip hasn't setup don't even bother getting the line wet.
I think any bass you get out on McBlairs better be a quick filet and release. On thur the CG was loafing around in their RIB and small cutter 3 miles SE of the cut
Good to hear the fish are out there. My son and his two buds and I will fish. ACK is for the females. I'll be looking for good strong rips out there. Weather should be beyond perfect
Head down the backside and drag some big swimmers, it's easy, the bluefish will love 'em and the kids won't care if the don't have stripes. Then, lunch on the island!
