Default 1st day of fishing... best bet from Newburyport???

I want to do it all... ground fishing... stripers.... Light winds/seas forcasted; able to run to inside of Jeffery's if needed. Not sure where to go... Humps south of Isle.... Southern tip of Jefferys off Cape Ann?

Figure Stripers on the way out and back in

Heck... haven't even looked at the tides yet... Will be splashing in at Sailsbury... unless there's a strong vote for Cape Ann... and the humps SE of the harbor.

thanks a bunch.

The mouth of the Merrimac is a great place to get your feet wet...just drift some clams and you'll have all the action you need, head offshore a little and the Macs are in...jig some up and the head off a little north for some cod or south towards cape ann for stripers...live line a few macs while you are jigging over structure and you could gte a nice mixed bag..with the forecast the way it is, it should be a busy weekend..

Im heading to jeffries, tried all the inshore spots last weekend, with only some shorts and redfish for my efforts. I always do well at jeffries, even if it takes awhile to find them.

Thanks Charlie... btw... do you run a large CC with "Sorry Charlie" on the side? I used had a slip at Cove for a few years.
