Default please help me cod fishing

I am a long time fisherman out of plymouth and am going to attempt cod, haddock, wolf this sunday for the first time!! Finding them wont be a problem I have that part covered, I have 4 nice cod rod and reels filled with 65lb braid so that part is covered. I have a few dimond gigs that I rig with 2 pink rubber shrimp above it as a teaser is that a good set up? I have also heard the butterfly jigs are working well...just a jig no teasers? Should I be useing clams or is it ok to just jig? I also have a very nice sea anchor/driftsock should I use that or anchor or drift? I plan on fishing the slack tide does that sound good?
When jiggin drop it to the bottom then how far do I reel up before I drop it back down 10-15 feet? ANY tips would be great......Also cod/haddock what are the sizes and limits and whats the best way to bleed them?

1st of all. two hooks in federal waters. thats jig and one teaser. butterfly jigs work as well as any other but are usually fished with a different technique. the bait bite had been slow although its been a bit since ive been out there. slack tide is the worst time to fish. you want to fish moving water and if your drift is to fast then you can either fish a bigger jig or use your sea anchor. good luck, most of us have been doing it for a very long time and have developed our own personal jig/teaser combo and jigging technique

I am working on my Jdizzle sig as we speak...thanks for asking . So I guess ill use my sea anchor cause last time I drifted without the anchor the jigs were going under the boat and I can see that being a pain in the butt with 4 people on the boat. I guess ill have to cut one of the hooks off one of the teasers. any other tips guys???

Moving water is the best for groundfish, slack tide is when I go hunting around for new spots.

Drift, Use sea anchor if tide and wind have you screaming, Eat lunch at slack tide, Bait and jigs should be on board, if you get mugged by doggies MOVE..

Sounds like you have everything else covered..

I assume you meant 10-15 inches not feet.

if your lines are going under the boat, fish on the other side of the boat and cast up current...good advise on keeping your thumb on the spool....full strike will have some good advise for you he has been cod fishing for years! hope you had some luck out there

at wallmart they have , what I call a buck tail jig. there are 1 0z size, white head with felthers. I've had good luck with them. trouble is make sure you have a lenght of line to play with the hooks are small and bend off easy. But a jig with a cut of clam works good bonching it off the bottom.
