Default Great Bay Fishing (Tuckerton,Little Egg Harbor Area)

Hey all, I'm new to this site, and saltwater fishing. I'm going to be going out on my uncles boat in the Great Bay or Little Egg Harbor and was wondering what equipment/rigs to bring. Surf casting is the only salt water fishing I've ever done, and that really just involved throwing out some clam for stripers. I'd like to do some fishing with lures, possibly for weakfish, blues, and stripers. I'm bringing my spinning rod, and want to know what lures I should buy, what is the must have? Any info would be much appreciated, thanks!

No, in New Jersey, near Long beach island. I don't think I'm ever going to get a response to my question unfortunately.

I haven't fished there in a few years but it depends on when you're heading out. This time of year I would recommend... For metal I would bring a Hopkins, diamond jigs, and possibly a Krocodile. On the metal you can catch all mentioned species (weakies, bass, & blues). Specifically for the weakies you could use a Fin-S on a 1 ounce jig head and bounce it off the bottom or fish grass shrimp. For the bass you would be fishing clams or bunker this time of year.

Hoof-
I grew up fishing the waters around LBI-Abiggerboat hits the nail on the head. Fin-s is great with a jig head especially with spinning tackle. I would pick up some berkely gulp! baits-shrimp or mullets seem to work the best but im sure its all the same stuff-just shaped different. Fluke season is opening soon so get some fluke rigs. I prefer single hooks but top and bottom rigs work too. good luck and tight lines.

Thanks for all the info guys, I'll be sure to pick some of those lures up. Tuna Man, that does look like a better forum for the questions I have, thanks.
