I had trouble finding blanks for my yamaha keys at the local locksmith. I ended up going to the original boat dealer and had them in no time.

Try Advanced Lock and Key in Brockton/Taunton. They do all my locks for my business in Norton. They seem to have just about everything.

Make sure you order the rubber gasket to go over the key as well... I just got the metal part when I ordered mine. It will start the boat, but you need the rubber to help keep water out of the ignition.

Interesting. I did not know that. Mine is just the metal key. Time to get some rubbers.

When I was something like 10 years old, my parents 1972 Aquasport 19.6 stalled three weekend in a row crossing Vineyard Sound. Back then the Coast Guard would come tow you in... After a couple hours the damm thing would start just fine. It wasn't until we rotted out the ignition did we figure out what was going on.... Took the ignition out and turned it upside down and watched the water pour out...

On a upward facing ignition,on a boat that can get wet like a center console, get the rubberkey cover...
