Default Suggestions First Cod Trip 08

I lauch out of Sandwich basin. I've been fishing for cod for only three years now. In 05 they came in tight to P-town. '06 and '07 we only found them scattered on Stellwagon. I'm planning on heading out first weekend in April. Thinking about starting close to P-town then moving to the Bank if no one is home. With the cost of gas I'm hoping to get into them without motoring all over the place but I don't have enough experience seeking them out. So I don't have any good numbers.
Where would you go if you were me?

Cat got your tongues? Come on there is plenty of fish for all of us. I`m not looking for coordinates just general areas.
Don`t be shy

Not to be a smart-ass, but I'd go fishing, find 'em and build your 2008 logbook. WHen you have several years' data, you'll know what the trends are...

First off launch out of someplace further north then sandwich and save your self some boat fuel. Plymouth, Green harbor, etc. are all closter to the bank and the gas you save getting to the bank will help offset the cost of running around the bank looking for fish.
With out giving out #'s look at your Capt seagulls chart and look for structure. Early in the spring start on the SW corner and zig zag your way north. West early in the season and east Later as the water warms and the doggies move in..

As you get further north there are also more inshore areas were you can also find cod early and lat in the season when th water is cold..
