Default 40'ft walk on Slip for Rent 2008+ Thames Street Newport RI

Hope all is well.... I am new to the board and hope it is OK to start my first post with this. I am the owner of the slip, not a broker or marina itself. (private party here) I bought the slip hoping to fill it this year but with a boat but with a new baby and work taking up a lot of my time just makes more sense to rent it out. It is a very nice slip, nice sunlight, one in from the harbor so great views..... walk on+ parking+easy boat dock up enter/exit etc. Anyway feel free to email me with any questions. Thanks all... sramponi@optimaleng.com

Here isa write up I did, tried to cover all I could...

40' Boat slip Newport RI off Thames Street
40ft walk on boat boat slip in Newport RI, walk on dock right off Thames Street, possibly best location for a Slip. All hook ups available... Comes with your own designated parking spot for the season as well on Thames Street. (if you know Newport RI this parking spot maybe worth more then the slip This price is for the full season.... 1 40ft slip, Full time dockmaster onsite, locker facilities and 1 private designated parking spot. location of the slip is right next door to the old Christies Restaurant now the new 41North restaurant/Lounge http://www.41no.com/ ... 41North rents Transient at 7.50ft (300 a night for a 40ft boat) and although they have limited seasonal they have a 55ft minimum... This slip is one in from the bay so you get the best nearly unobstructed views of the harbor and of the Newport Bridge but somewhat protected from any chop/wakes. Rates seem to be going up for 2008 across the island.... some already charging close to 285/ft per season and their slips are not in as nice of a location. You can walk to everything from this area. Email me if interested for more details. I am not buying a boat for another few years so possible two year lock in at current rate I would consider for the right person. Price is 200ft x 40 = for the full 2008 season. -OBO- (14ft Beam 10ft depth)

Thanks for looking all

I suppose if you can afford what goes into a slip that size,
the cost of the slip is mice nuts.

I spend 800.00 a year for hauling, launching, slip (33 Bert), storage, power, membership dues, plus 150.00 dollars to spend at the bar at the yacht club. Best deal in Mass.!

They don't get it. This is a deal. Keep the big boat there for the summer and it's Schaeffer City. Sadly, I have a CC.

Its fair game, the poster did not post it in the "For sale" section, nor has he paid for a membership to sell stuff on the site.

Neither have you lol. Or the other person who posted on his post. So he made a mistake, get over it. If you have a problem hit the alert button and let the mods decide over it.

There's never a Mod around when you need one.

I hope he gets 8,000. Free market, its the American way. That's a great slip in one of the best harbors in the world. So many over sensitive chicks on this site, its kind of weird.

Leave it alone. What are you trying to be? Mod #4?

The wheel police were fired a long time ago. It's IB now, let them handle it. You guys are bitchin and you don't even have a friggin wheel. It's also not for sale, it's for rent with parking.

I am not selling anything. Nor will I ever pay to use an internet forum. So anyways, why don't you practice what you preach and hit alert on me or just "Get over it".

8 Grand isn't bad for the summer in Newport, if that is your style of boating, its actually very reasonable based on availability and location. I'm upwards of 5 to be in Pt. Judith...

Yikes, just a normal guy here, by no means a spammer and truly apologize in advance if this is how the post came across. If I should not have been posted and people want me to remove I can. Did not mean to upset anyone on this board. Seems like an awesome forum, have been lurking for a bit, more reading then posting clearly as this was my first post. Sure once I take the plunge on the boat hopefully will be more active and can add some value. Don't want to make any waves and truly sorry if my first post broke any rules. I will check out the FS section as maybe it is more appropriate there, just thought as this being available in Newport RI the Northeast section maybe OK. Again no harm meant.....

thanks again.....

thanks for the good words and support....I did try and price well, other marinas getting much more and long lists for a nice slip.... some not so great slips available but not to much less. believe it or not 8K and I am still loosing money being the owner......taxes, dockominium fees, carrying costs/purchase price funds that could have been in the bank collecting interest... those thinking of buying a slip to rent its not a money maker in the least.... sadly for me... but anyone just hoping if someone does take it they enjoy the spot.... take care

My buddy has a second "weekend" slip in Newport at West Wind Marina and is paying $10500 for the summer ,this is for a 38 footer. He just bought a 52 Viking this week,so that price will go up. $200 is fine. This is in Newport after all.

Welcome to the site by the way.

No offence to you at all man, 8k is a good price for your slip and I do hope you get it. If I could affor the skip and a 40 foot boat, I know where I would spend my summer. Oh yeah, if i was single too.

Fair price and better to whom ever rented your berth.

The Albins have a great following. Here is a link to a thread on The Albin Owners Group discussing the 36. A good group on that board that can help answer your questions and concerns. Be sure to spend some time to poke around the site.
Thanks for the well wishes!
