Default Palm Beach Charters

Heading to Florida the first week in Feb and looking for a 1 day charter. Going to be in the Palm Beach area...Any recommendations?

I've fished with Howie Vermilye out of Sailfish Marina. He was excellent, although the charters out of there are pricey.

I've booked with Captain Rob Mazzei (sail king charters). We never went out but he seems like a good guy. He is CaptRobMaz on this forum.

I fished out of sailfish as well....there was a guy I have done several day trips with, the boat is "Baby Grand" a 53 Rickey Scarborough....nice rig, good capt and mate...got into alot of amberjacks up to 60 lbs, raised a few sails....good charter...I would recommend him..only problem is he makes the run to bimini for tourneys at this time of year...hit or miss...call ahead.

I fished with Rob as well, on his old boat (I think I saw that he now had a nice new Dusky). I can certainly recommend him. Might have been a slow day by his standards, but we started casting to schools of Spanish Mackerel, and one group of Albies – pulled a 14lbr from that bunch on light spinning tackle, then ran from Jupiter all the way up to Stuart to find bait. Didn’t catch anything on the live bait at first, but pulled a half dozen small dolphin from under a 2x6, then ran back down towards Jupiter where we picked up a nice sail on the kite and two pesky sharks on the flat lines.

It was my first billfish, estimated about 60 lbs, watch it light up again as it swam away – that is amazing the first time you see it. It was during March when he said they hadn’t seen too many sails. We had a riot and it’s a day I’ll never forget.
