Sounds like I've come up with a good idea. no? Ok...I'll start writing something now, I'm gonna have to look at the CMR and see how it needs to be modified to accommodate these changes....I'll be back.

Before your head starts making changes; What are your credentials to be asking for any changes? Are you a stand out at meetings? Has your name been mentioned in newspapers in regards to the fishery, any fisheries?
What are the chances that they enforce a-stop-to-fishing policy, (ex, Canada's Moratorium in the early '90's,) or make it a free for all?

eh? what's your problem?

Yes...I am known to the commission...if I am there, I don't need to introduce myself...how about you? What are your credentials to be asking this and....why are you?

Are you a gillnetter?

Have you ever been a gillnetter?

And what credentials are needed to question authority, anyways?

Seriously Aloop, whats up with that?

Are you trying to say, that someone needs "credentials" to be involved with fisheries management????

If you are, why?

I am not a gillnetter, never been on one, I know of the Cape Cod gillnetters through associations, I worked on longliners, and did commercial bass, tuna. I read about the meetings that have taken place and wanted to know if I ever have read your name and wanted to know why your trying to take controll of this issue with the gillnetters.
Why do you try to put everyone in a corner if they disagree or question your motive?

I'm not pushing anyone anywhere Aloop, quite the contrary....Now how about the question?

My name is of little relevance to this....whats yours? Mines John Rice, just to make you feel better.

As far as taking control of the issue with the gillnetters, I'd gladly let someone else climb the hill- you volunteering?

When do the fish spawn and are there specific spots that the fish are breeding/spawning in?

because like the spawning Bluefin Tuna in the Gulf of Mexico, shut down those areas to fishing until the fish move on.

closing areas--- (or closing them forever as Diodati seems to be doing in the ccz) is not fishery management!
It's just the easy way out for fishery managers.

worse yet, closing them off with zero public input, by emegency action......no public hearings beforehand, just a letter in the mailbox saying, "sorry, I can't deal with conflict", so you're outa business.......pretty lame way to "manage" our fisheries.

Funny how even though they closed the area off Nahant, recs still managed to HARVEST

175,000 #'s from state waters in 2006??? I wonder where this magic fishing spot is....I don't see anyone fishing off the backside of the cape in the winter in private boats for cod..... the CCZ is closed, so that leaves what little area in the bay that is open to fishing, while the fish are here.

The CCZ wasn't closed to protect anything but Diodati's fat a$$, he is scared to death of conflict, the NMFS was bearing down on him hard to "do something" about all the cod that were being "landed" from state waters, which is beginning to look like a huge lie, told to keep the truth about how those fishwere actually being landed.

Diodati needs to go away, ride off on his friggin BMW into the sunset....he's ruined this states fisheries through his blatant ineptitude!
