Re: Mid-Water killing machines are done on Jeffery's....
I heard that the Mid water boats are off Chatham, (pre-storm). I saw a big white boat, at least 100' in length, in Cape Cod Bay yesterday going in wide circles off Sandwich/Barnstable, any ideas what it was?

They love to pound the Cape this time of year, no wonder that the Chatham bite has sucked recently with these guys hitting the area hard every Fall.

All the other midwater and Seiner poachers are off of Chatham!

The seiners dont ever fish off the Cape...its almost always only midwater boats that fish there. My guess is that the seiners that are out, if they are out, are trying some where in Area 1B just outside of the 1A line. But I know that one of the big seiners (Ruth and Pat) has been tied up ever since 1A shut down. Midwater gear is capable of catching fish anytime, anywhere...seining is not, and for whatever the reason, seiners dont fish off the Cape. (I am sure there are exceptions, but not very often).
