Theres a difference between fishing for a living, and exploiting for a living. These commercial seiners are doing the latter of the two.

you guys are unbelievable! seiners have given more to the bluefin fishery than any other sector of the commercial fishery with tagging $ and body parts for research, if you don't believe it ask Molly Lutcavage PHD Large pelagic research UNH

EXPLOITING?,There isnt a more regulated fishery,they cant engage in fishing without a NMFS agent onboard doing a log.

Yup, the DM came through the canal yesterday approx 1600 heading south toward Buzzards.. I was Jigging for Bass and tried to wack the barge with a 3 oncer and missed..

yep the rec guys are selling there fish i heard as much as $1000 for three fish and on top they are not reporting them to help the quota is eaten up so we will have a quota next year for all to use

i know rec guys sell shorts.. around here a call to the enviro cop ends it fast. the word gets out even faster.. i guess my point is, (along with the whole fishery we care so much about) you cant whine about it and know of the wrongs, but yet do nothing about it.. your screwing yourself.
