After the big Fog on Saturday & Sunday morning could not find a fish from Breeze Point to Sandy Hook & points south. The locally guides from Staten Island & Jamacia Bay have been hanging around Breeze Point looking for the few small pods of False ablies that some time pop-up. This weekend inshore fishing was DEAD.
Sandy Hook the beach look like it was middle of August with all the umbellas & sunbathers Water temp 66-68 degrees

Had one big blue, 2 dogs, 3 robins, and a snail. Another couple blues cut our lines before we realized it was too early for stripes.

Went out to the NY bouy Sunday to chunk for blues on light tackle, 4 fish landed before they turned off completely at 10am. Fished there until noon and chased small schools of snappers in Raritan Bay till 3:00.
Customers were not happy!

Also had some clown drift within 20 yards of me while we were anchored, when I said something to him he said he was jigging sea bass, and didnt know I was anchored or chumming even though he had to start his engine to avoid going over my anchor line and my bright yellow chum bag was on the side he passed me on. LOSER!

I love weekends..

There were keeper stripers in the Hudson river, East river, and down in the harborby the statue, the yellow cans, and the VZ bridge. There's gotta be fish in the bay.

They been there for awhile now. So were the blues till last week...more stripers than blues now, though.

A guy at my Marina brought in a 30 pounder yesterday. It was caught chunking at the Tappan Zee Bridge. I'm going out tonight.....

Went out last night at the end of the outgoing tide in the Hudson River. Fished the south side of the Tappan Zee Bridge. Wrong tide, water temp was 64* - 65* and all we got was a 19 inch striper. Wish the water temp would drop a little. Next week I'll be back out to fish the evening incoming tides....
