Random Quote: The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad
What part of the mud hole are you getting the big blues.... usually hit the farms outta shark river but been hearing blues to be spotty over the last week
any reports on how the fishing at the arundo has been....? im trying to get out to the farms and maybe the arundo if weather permits... but havent heard much news yet from the arundo
I wanted to go this week to try for some bluefin. I've never targeted bluefin so it's going to be a big time learning experience. I've caught enough fluke and bass to tie me over for a while so i was looking to try something new. I need to do some research this week before going. I'm just looking to get the minimum tackle for now and give it a shot. I heard trolling japanese feathers and a cedar plug is a good start. Of course I need to hear that there's something out there before heading out. Any words of advice?
It'll be weather dependent of course but maybe Friday. I was looking at some of the minimum tackle req'd and it's gonna be an expensive week getting what i need.
Yea I have been slowely but surely getting stuff
Everthing I have is run of the mill (no Gold stuff yet)
I have been buying lures on E-Bay there is a guy in NJ that sells stuff

Was over there today (Sunday) and I got 6 good sized cod (27-30") and a nice pollock (30"). I threw back about 15 undersized fish. Really nice day. Whales everywhere but I didn't spot any tuna.
Thinking of going sunday; we were out last sunday and got knocked around and headed home after a few hours (started at the BA and trolled to the Arundo with one knock down); the east wind made for a lumpy ride with no fish being boated. Have not heard any good reports this week; but to be honest I have not been at the boat much to sift through the BS.

I'm planning on leaving out of Shark River around 5am on Sunday. Last trip was too early at 4. I wasted too much time idling waiting for some daylight to see through the fog (no radar... yet). I'm thinking of starting around Monster Ledge and heading towards Glory Hole. I'm going to study the surface temp pictures. Are you going to be out there Jason?
