Guys in CT are getting stripers now in the Thames and the Housy. There are a few herring, too. Used to be in March the winter flounder and togs would start. You could fish all winter for Tom Cod, Ling, Hake, Whiting, Frostfish. In the winter we would spear eels. Oh well.

I don't have a boat yet, so I hope that the fishing will wait for me! I can't decide on a 22' center consule. Any help? I'm looking at either a grady white, robalo, hydrasport, century, or scout. I narrowed it down to five, but still need to eliminate some.
April first is when they are going to first allow us to even recreationally fish north of the Cape... thats when the regs go back to 10 fish a person, then the macs come late april, then the stripers are behind them. So in a month we should be able to satisfy our fishing addictions. Charters are bookin up fast because most of the good groundfish boats usually run all winter, but having to cancel those trips leaves them booked every day for April and May, so anyone who is thinkin about a charter should make your plans sooner rather than later. Ground fishing is usually very good from March to June. Tuner.... look at the Parker 23... much more boat for your money, and its like a 25 foot boat of most of those other makes you talk about. If you really want a machine the 25 parker with a 9'6 inch beam was the balls... saw that at the boat show.
