went out yest from sheepshead bay brooklyn. tough fishing for blacks off of jersey shore by seabright. i ended with 3 shorts and 3 keepers ( around 5 - 6 lbs each). i dropped a very big fish a few feet off the wreck. ouch. apparently i did well cause high hook was the mate with only 5 keepers. the fish were picking at the baits. the reel hits came far and few between. only 2 - 3 dogs came up. many sharpies only had 3 or 4. lost only one rig. the birds were not out for the first time in 3 weeks. pool fish was only 7.5 lbs much smaller than previous weeks. the mackerel boats did very well off shore. i think im done for tghe season. it was a long one and my best so far. maybe one last mack trip in january for bait in the summer.

a week ago there was " a school of herring the size of manhattan" moving down the east coast. the last few days of the season we slammed the bass good. i suspect all those fish are in south jersey now we had several bass at a time swiping footlong hering on top of the water. massive ammounts of birds, bait and fish in the water
