NEW for 2007: The dates have been set for our 2007 Canyon Runner Tuna/Marlin Seminars and this year’s Seminars should provide something for everyone – from novice to expert to past Seminar participant. For 2007 we have expanded our content to include inshore fishing for bluefin and much more on marlin and swordfish. But most importantly we are bringing in guest speakers. These guys are pioneers in the fishing industry and will be conducting their own breakout sessions with
Brand NEW topics.
Dennis Braid from Braid Tackle we be presenting breakout sessions on fighting big fish on stand-up tackle. Dennis Braid is hands down one of the pioneers in stand-up fishing and an innovator in the industry.
Capt. Len Belcaro, one of the first to bring satellite water temperature shots to sport fishermen, will present his own breakout sessions on reading and fishing offshore eddies and temperature breaks. Finally,
Basil Pappas from Wind-Ons by Basil™ and BHP Tackle will show you how to fish and rig spectra®, wind-ons, and top shots. Basil is at the top of the class when it comes to rigging top-shots and utilizing spectra® in your arsenal.
Even with the NEW speakers and NEW breakout sessions, we will continue with the format and core topics of our past Seminars and what made them so successful. The full day event will be broken up into 4-hours in our main ballroom covering everything you ever wanted to know about trolling and chunking for tuna, marlin, and swordfish, four 45-minute breakout session with groups as small as 25-30 guys, and plenty of time for one-to-one question and answer sessions with every member of our crew - including our guest speakers. In addition to the NEW breakout topics, our core breakout sessions will see you get your hands dirty rigging baits with us for tuna and marlin, rigging lures, dredges, and spreader bars with us, and setting up for chunking as if you were in our cockpit. After our Seminar you would be able to crew on our next overnighter working hand-in-hand with our most seasoned mate, or, run the boat from the slip to the edge putting us on the bite.
Our first Seminar will be held at the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel on January 13, 2007. Our next event will be at the Huntington Hilton in Long Island, NY on March, 17, 2007.
