Default Canyon Runner - 2007 Canyon Tuna/Marlin/Swordfish Seminars

NEW for 2007: The dates have been set for our 2007 Canyon Runner Tuna/Marlin Seminars and this year’s Seminars should provide something for everyone – from novice to expert to past Seminar participant. For 2007 we have expanded our content to include inshore fishing for bluefin and much more on marlin and swordfish. But most importantly we are bringing in guest speakers. These guys are pioneers in the fishing industry and will be conducting their own breakout sessions with Brand NEW topics. Dennis Braid from Braid Tackle we be presenting breakout sessions on fighting big fish on stand-up tackle. Dennis Braid is hands down one of the pioneers in stand-up fishing and an innovator in the industry. Capt. Len Belcaro, one of the first to bring satellite water temperature shots to sport fishermen, will present his own breakout sessions on reading and fishing offshore eddies and temperature breaks. Finally, Basil Pappas from Wind-Ons by Basil™ and BHP Tackle will show you how to fish and rig spectra®, wind-ons, and top shots. Basil is at the top of the class when it comes to rigging top-shots and utilizing spectra® in your arsenal.

Even with the NEW speakers and NEW breakout sessions, we will continue with the format and core topics of our past Seminars and what made them so successful. The full day event will be broken up into 4-hours in our main ballroom covering everything you ever wanted to know about trolling and chunking for tuna, marlin, and swordfish, four 45-minute breakout session with groups as small as 25-30 guys, and plenty of time for one-to-one question and answer sessions with every member of our crew - including our guest speakers. In addition to the NEW breakout topics, our core breakout sessions will see you get your hands dirty rigging baits with us for tuna and marlin, rigging lures, dredges, and spreader bars with us, and setting up for chunking as if you were in our cockpit. After our Seminar you would be able to crew on our next overnighter working hand-in-hand with our most seasoned mate, or, run the boat from the slip to the edge putting us on the bite.

Our first Seminar will be held at the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel on January 13, 2007. Our next event will be at the Huntington Hilton in Long Island, NY on March, 17, 2007. Our third Seminar will be at the Double Tree Hotel Annapolis in Annapolis, MD on March 31, 2007 and our season finale will be at the Newport Hyatt in Newport, RI on April 14, 2007.

Registration and videos begin at 8:00am and our sponsors (including Penn Reels, RFA, Offshore Satellite Services/Big Game Fishing Journal, Viking Rafts, Fisherman Supply, Stitches by Swyce, American Marine Underwriters, Deep Sea Outfitters, BHP Tackle, and J&B Tackle) will have booths set up at that time, and throughout the day, to view and purchase their products.

We will also have a FREE continental breakfast starting at 8am and FREE snacks throughout the morning.

We will have over $6,000+ in door prizes including Canyon Runner Outfitters Spreader Bars, Lures, and assorted tackle plus our grand prize - a $2,000 gift certificate towards tackle at Canyon Runner Outfitters. Additional door prizes donated by our sponsors will include Penn rods and reels, Momoi Fishing Line, Chaos Lures, Berkley line, Pelagic Gear, Sevenstrand tackle, CostaDel Mar sunglasses, equipment donated by the RFA, American Marine Underwriters, Viking Rafts, and The Big Game Fishing Journal/Offshore Satellite Services.

Highly recommend!

These guys know their stuff and are very willing to share. You can pick their brains all day long. I brought my family and the CR folks had the patience to spend all of the time necessary with my wife and younger son with one on one demos. Very impressive.

Happy New Year to Everyone!!!!

We can't wait to kick off 2007 with our first of 4 Seminars this winter -starting on January 13 in Atlantic City. In case you have yet to secure your ticket we have only 25 left as we are not allowed to sell more than 400 tickets due to fire code regulations.

We are selling them at the New York Boat Show if you plan on attending but I am not sure if we will have any left by Saturday. As such, please do not hesitate any longer to book your tickets if you planned on attending.

Of course if the date does not work for you we will be having Seminars in Long Island, Newport, RI and Annapolis, MD.
