Default Thoughts on how to live line bunker

I have live lined bunker in slow moving currents for years. I now have moved to the southshore where the currrents/Drift are much quicker (mostly inlet fishing). I would like to hear your thoughts on where to hook the bunker and the l set up used. Three way swivel? Fishfinder?

DOUBLE TREBLE ONE INE THE SHOULDERS ONE BETWEEN THE TAIL AND DORSAL. ONLY PUT ONE TINE IN THE BUNKER LEAVE THE OTHER TWO EXPOSED. WE HAVE A LOT OF BLUES MIXED IN AND THE ONLY WAY TO AVOID CUTOFFS IS WITH TWO TREBLES. THE BASS DONT SEEM TO MIND THE HARDWARE. ITS ALSO VERY HARD FOR THE FISH TO SWALLOW EVERTHIGN SO SO FAR NOT ONE GUT HOOK WITH THIS RIG. WEIGHT OR NO WEIGHT DOESNT SEEM TO MATTER. GIVE THE BUNKER PLENTY OF LINE TO SWIM. YOULL KNOW WHEN THE HITS COMING!!!!!

If youre going to keep them yo-yoing is a very effective way but it is a bad idea for catch and release.

FORGOT. TO MAKE THE RIG TAKE A NYLON COATED WIRE LEADER 36 INCHES 60 LB AT LEAST. WITH SWIVEL ON ONE END AT SNAP LOCK ON THE OTHER. LEAVE SWIVEL. CLIP OFF SNAP LOCK WITH PLIERS. ADD SPLIT RING AND #5 - # 7 TREBLE. 5- 6INCHES (WE HAVE HUGE BUNKER HERE) TIE A 3 TURN DROPPER LOOP IN THE COATED WIRE. THIS LOOP WORKS WELL FOR WIRE BUT THE OTHER KNOTRS CRIMP THE WIRE MORE. PUT THE SECOND TREBLE ON THE DROPPER LOOP. THIS TREBLE ALWAYS GOES IN THE HEAD OF THE BUNKER IF YOU REVERSE THE TREBLES AND PUT THIS ONE IN THE TAIL THEY JUST SWIM STRAIGHT OUT. WITH THE TREBLE IN THE HEAD THE FISH TEND TO MAKE BIG LAZY CIRCLES AND YOU CAN CONTROL THE BAIT A LITTLE BETTER. ALSO THERE SHOULD BE SLIGHT SLACK BETWEEN THE TWO TREBLES ONCE THE BAIT IS HOOKED OTHERWISE HE WONT SWIM RIGHT. FOR MORE SLACK PUT THE SECOND TREBLE CLOSER TO THE DORSAL FIN FOR LESS SLACK MORE TO THE TAIL (TOO MUCH SLACK WILL CAUSE THE FISH TO TANGLE HIMSELF. HOPE THIS HELPS

I am probably going to regret this but, why use a treble hook. It is hard enough getting the fish to give back an 8/0.

Trebles give you more hookups, but yes, they can be a b*tch getting out of a fish. If the fish swallows the hook, I'll just cut the hook apart and pull it out. I usally pinch 2/3 barbs anyways...

Come on Capt. you fish where I fish. There is no need for trebles. It is nice that you pinch the barbs though.

What can I say, I like having a good hookup/catch ratio

We make up a sh!tload of rigs just leave it in the fish retie/replace and go much quicker and know we don't release much more than the rack
