Custom building Big Game Fishing tackle with custom shopping cart technology for Big Game Fishing products gives customers new options for building tackle on-line.
Jupiter, Florida July 14, 2009 CanyonGear has launched, along with its Custom line of Big Game Fishing Tackle, a custom website www.canyongear.com and store. The website features custom quality Big Game Fishing products and the world’s first shopping cart that allows customers to customize products on-line. Customizable products include: Lures, Rods, Gaffs, Terminal Tackle and Rigging.
The custom programmed shopping cart allows Big Game Fishing enthusiasts to “Custom Create” their particular piece of tackle by as many as 15 attributes and over 100 sub-options in some cases. “Our customers can create for instance, a particular lure from scratch by choosing a head shape, head size, head insert color with abalone or holographic inlays, inner and outer skirt colors, leader material type, leader length, hook size, hook set type and rig it. We have supplied tournament boats and customers around the globe with custom tackle, this web store technology now gives them the ability to custom create products, from their computer”, said Tim Woodstock, owner of the company.
The customizable product line-up also includes; Stand-up and Trolling Rods, Gaffs, Spreader Bars, Daisy Chains and Teasers. Negotiations are underway with several private tackle builders to use this new website/store technology to market their products under the CanyonGear brand.

We announced a new lure a few days ago..here is the announcement and some photos of her. This is the old Murray Brothers LNG series in a completely customized form, by the original Murray Brothers lure maker.
After Murray's went out..he started his own company, "Compleat Angler", and was given the Masters and rights to the Murray lure line by the original Murray's..he tweaked and re-designed the head into what was known as the "Masher". The "Masher" went out of production about 5 years ago. The owner and I met last month and he choose us to start making the "Masher" again, with our own tweaks and new resin pouring technology that our master lure head maker utilizes.

"I am very pleased that DeepC.."Compleat Angler"..has chosen to "give", being the operative word, to us the exclusive rights to carry on and re-produce the worldwide known "Masher" lure.
There are more of his designs that actually are involved, this is enough for now.
We worked with DeepC to tweak the insert with his approval every step of the way so as to keep the original head shape intact with the master provided, insert weight and sizing and ultimately the action of the lure consistent with the original "Masher".
What we did change, was the insert a touch to bring it up to todays molding processes, a slight keel weight was added, after running the first prototypes for stability against one of the original "Mashers" and flattening the edges to accept the abalone inlays. The butt was re-designed to accept rolled and tied skirting..versus the old "Masher" which was glued on.
Each step and tweak was review by DeepC as we progressed through the prototypes..I think you will find we have tried our best to update a great head shape from a great lure maker.
Certainly a lure of this caliber should not be left on the shelf. If there was ever a copied lure..well just look around. These are the originals, from the masters, period.
The masters are safe and sound at our lure head maker..the legacy is re-born and I am so pleased Deep asked us to be the ones to do this for his lure.
