Default Live Lining in the MidBay

I wanted to try Live Lining and was wondering on where to go...possibly near the Choptank River. Since the storm, has anyone tried livelining with success. Also, do you anchor or drift while live lining?

I prefer to drift when livelining although have had succes when anchoring. I would find structure and current, or under working birds(although you will get back alot of heads from the birds. I tend to anchor when the current is running really strong and I can position the boat to drift the baits back across where the fish are holding.

Eastern bay has been producing fish in the 24-26" range...most have been using spot...but small perch will work as well...look for birds or areas where the channel comes up fast to a "flats area"..

I got a tip to try live lining spot at the false channel which is just outside the Choptank.

Live lining for over a month now has been wide open! I have been limiting out on fish up to 30 inches in most days in less than 20 min. Fish on is correct and you will see the Chesapeake beach fleet there daily. However, there are many spots to live line. Spot works the best and I don't mess with anything else. Also you must anchor for the best results. Trust me what ever noises those little spot make in the water it doesn't take long for the rock to show up and since its structure oriented fishing drifting is counter productive. If you want to go some time let me know. Also, load up the bait well, on some days the bluefish are a nuisance.
