Re: new to the lower bay I second the reply to go to Tidalfish for fishing advice. You'll learn a ton just by reading the regular postings.
What are you fishing for? In addition to the "real" bloodworm and squid, fishbites makes artificials that work really well in warm water. Good for perch, croaker and spot.
If you're after striped bass or bluefish, we use lures both metals like Stingsilvers and Hopkins spoons and plastics like Bass Assassins and Bass Kandy Delights. They also work on trout. Unfortunately we don't get many of them up this way any more.
You have some good fishing at the Pax. Nice area.
