Can anyone recommend a mobile Yamaha mechanic in the northern neck of Virginia, preferably in/around the lower counties? I have a new to me boat with twin Yamahas and would like to develop a relationship with a good mechanic. Thanks!
There's Irving Marine in Lottsburg. There are some people who swear by him, others won't let him set foot on their boat, kinda like every other mechanic out there.
I assume he works on Yamaha.
I would say either Jett's or Mid Atlantic Marine would be options. Better option would be to get the service manuals and do all you can yourself. The 200 hpdis are pretty straight forward to work on. No valves to adjust or oil to change!
Norview in Deltaville 804-776-6463 has a few good ones if you can get on their list.
Don't know why I didn't think of them - I use their ramp everytime I go out and was just there Saturday. I think they are a "5-Star Certified" shop, too, but don't sell Yamahas.
I don't think Whelan's sells Yamahas, but they may work on them - not sure?
