Default Offshore on Blew Bayou

I chartered Blew Bayou (54' Hatteras) for next weeks fishing trip. We did pretty well with them last year. I have been hearing great reports from them the last couple of weeks about dolphin and BFT and during the Tuna tournament, on day 2 they were in 3rd for total pounds but I believe they got nudged in the end and came in 4th. I will take some pic's and post a report.

Blew Bayou used to be a 1997 Hatteras 50. Has it been replaced?

No, same one. I thought it was a 54'. My bad. I have an interesting story to tell about this boat and the Owner............................................. .

As some might know, I own a construction business and about 3 months ago I recieved a call from a nice girl out in Oklahoma who told me she just bought a house in the area and she needed a garage built. I told her I'd go out and look at it that Sat. and she stated that she'd be in town and could meet me. We met out there that Sat. as planned and she was with her father who said he would take care of all the survey work and permits because he was an engineer. I asked "what firm do you work for?" He replied "I own XYZ Engineering." Then it hit me, " I was on your boat last summer!" So we chatted a bit about the trip.

Now it gets better. We started the job a couple weeks ago and he came over to see how we were making out. He looked a bit tired and I asked how he was doing. He stated that he had just gotten back from a European cruise for his 60th B-day. I said "Cool, where did you go?" He said they went on a small cruise from Malta. I was VERY intrigued at this point! I said "Was it a large sailboat cruise?" He replied "Yeah, it only had about 60 people on board." I answered to that with "Two of those 60 people were my parents!" My parents live in Naples, Florida, BTW. He asked what their names were and I told him. Then he got this look like "you have got to be kidding me!" He said "We hung out with them the whole time!!" I think we both got goose bumps about the whole thing.

Moral = The World isn't as big as you think it is! And, I'm very fortunate to have met such wonderful people through fishing!

Bill is a good guy. I sold him that boat new in 1999. It had been our dealer demo.

Truly a small world. I happen to be friends with one of his daughters and his son-in-law and I have been invited to OC tomorrow to go catch some BFT on the Blew Bayou. I have been on it for a cruise around the bay, but never offshore. I am so excited that I can't sleep.
